The integrated interactive simulator for oil well operation (OWOS) is designed to train and improve the skills of oil and gas production specialists on the mock-ups of mass-produced ground equipment combined with mathematical modelling and tracking of processes running in the virtual system "reservoir - well - ESP - wellhead".

Three-level training system
Level 1:
computer simulator - OWOS-K

Automated learning system. Mathematical models of processes running in the virtual reservoir, well and ESP installations were implemented. Ground and underground equipment - in 3D version. OWOS-K implements the principle of conceptual development of main and auxiliary equipment, allows to practice the actions of the trainee in the main modes of well operation, to detail knowledge of operational schemes and functionality of devices and equipment
Level 2:
portable simulator - OWOS-P
OWOS-P is the same OWOS-K to which desktop layouts are connected
wellhead fittings, control station controller and equipotential measure. With the help of these layouts, OWOS-P allows the trainee to practice the actions of the trainee not only on a computer, but also on equipment specially designed for this purpose. By observing the reaction of the "reservoir well - ESP installation - ground equipment" system to all its actions, the trainee consolidates the skills and abilities acquired during training to manage individual technological processes.

Level 3:
full-scale simulator - OWOS-PM
In this case, the computer simulator is no longer equipped with desktop models, but with full-scale layouts based on serially produced wellhead fittings, control stations and an equipotential bonding unit. With the help of OWOS-PM, the trainee practices the actions of service personnel in situations as close to real as possible, making the appropriate efforts and moving from one element of ground equipment to another. At the same time, it is possible to work with the automated group measuring unit (AGMU) not only in virtual but also in full-scale execution.

Experience of implementation
About 25 years have passed since the idea of creating a OWOS - ESP installation appeared. During this time, more than 150 licenses of the complete ARMARIS software that ensures the functioning of the OWOS were provided to universities and training centers of a number of oil companies, and 4 portable and 9 full-scale versions of the simulator were delivered. OWOS is one of the results of high-tech research and development of CSMR LLC, which are implemented in specific oil companies that are interested in this. For example, in the period from 1994 to 2015, such a company was PJSC Tatneft, and from 2003 to 2013, we also actively worked with LUKOIL – Western Siberia LLC. After 2015, our main "budget-forming" product became OWOS - ESP. That is, the power of "market formation", marketing and so on around OWOS we are just starting to do. But now, thanks to the experience gained, it is clear that this product and all the developments that ensure its further development are becoming more and more popular.
